DIY Safe All-Purpose Cleaner

Cleaning your house should truly mean cleaning your house… not adding chemicals to surfaces you touch or the air you and your family breathe. Part of our Go Green theme for the month of March is to cleanse your house of toxic chemicals. Skin is our largest organ and absorbs different substances we come in contact with so it is important to be mindful of what we use in and around our homes. Here is a simple recipe for an all around cleaning spray that you and your family can feel good about using.

DIY Safe All-Purpose Cleaner

  • Reusable glass spray bottle
  • 2 parts filtered water
  • 1 part distilled white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1-2 tsp lemon juice
  • 5-7 drops of lemon essential oil or thieves essential oil
  • Lemon peels

*Optional: 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary

Add ingredients to glass jar and mix gently. Let sit for 2 weeks, gently turning every few days. After the 2 weeks of curing simply strain liquid into the reusable glass spray bottle and label for use. Compost the left over peels and herbs or toss them in the yard.
