Summer is officially here!
We couldn’t be more excited for our favorite season. To help you live this summer to its fullest, we wanted to share some of our favorite healthy living tips to make sure you get the most out of it!
Tips for a healthy happy summer…
1. Get Outside
It’s the best time of year to enjoy the great outdoors. Go on a hike, a jog, a walk, whatever, just get outside in the sunshine and get some Vitamin D and fresh air (just don’t forget your Raw Elements SPF!).
2. Stay Hydrated
Be sure to drink plenty of water! As the heat intensifies and your activity levels go up you’ll need it. Plus, it’s a great way to keep your body detoxed and ward off heat stroke.
3. Road Trip
Hop in the car and explore a new place this summer. Depending on how much time you have, you can take day trip to a funky little town you’ve heard about a couple hours away or drive to a national park in another state. There is so much beauty right here in our own country, go check it out! Suggestion! Pick a location that natural body of water – springs, streams, lakes, etc, take the opportunity to cool down in the blue.
4. Healing Waters
Water melts away stresses and invigorates the spirit. If you live near the beach (consider yourself lucky!) enjoy the bliss of the ocean as much as you can while the temps are high and the water is warm(er). If you don’t live near the beach, and don’t have a coastal getaway planned, look for a nearby lake or body of water and go for a swim! If that’s not your thing, take a dunk, dive, or dip in a pool and enjoy the same relaxation benefits by being submerged and floating in the water.
5. Messy Hair Don’t Care
Though we do love a good messy hair style no matter the season, summer is the perfect time of year to embrace it. Call it wind blown or beach waves, the summer sun and salt make for the best texture and the heat is an even better excuse to stay away from your blowdryer and hair irons. Relinquish the duty of perfect hair and find confidence in the imperfections of summer hair.
It’s just a must in the summer. Look up a fun recipe and invite friends over for a healthy outdoor brunch with a watermelon dish and yard games. And! it’s probably the tastiest way to hydrate.
7. SUP Yoga Class
Yup, we’re talking about YOGA on a SUP (that’s a stand up paddle board for those you who aren’t familiar). If you have not tried it yet, it’s about time. Don’t worry, part of the fun is falling in the water! Checkout your local options to find where it is offered.
8. Berry Bliss
Get your antioxidant fill with fresh berries. The berry bounty is abundant this time of year.
9. Eat Clean
This should go without saying all year long, but it’s always nice to have a friendly reminder. The cleaner you eat, the better you feel. With so much wonderful produce in season, it is even easier to reach for fresh, bright tasting foods. In the summer heat heavy foods weigh you down and can make you feel more sluggish. On a hot day you will actually find yourself craving the good stuff naturally! Eat fresh to feel your best.
10. Chill Out & Disconnect!
Relax! Step away from your computer, phone, and any other devices. Take a mini-mental vacation from the stress of always being on and connected. It’s summer, enjoy it while it lasts…
